Vita Dermatology & Laser Institute, the skin care services of Lassen Medical Group, offers a range of cosmetic dermatology skin care services, including Accutane, Botox, laser skin care, Juvederm, Restylane, Radiesse, and TCA peels (chemical peels).

Procedures are performed or guide by our board-certified physicians, Nancy Anderson, MD, and Tinyee Chang, MD, and physicians assistants.

Accutane
A form of Vitamin A, Accutane is used to treat severe acne by reducing the amount of oil released by glands in your skin, which helps your skin renew itself more quickly. It is typically used after other treatments have been tried unsuccessfully.

Botox
This injectable solution reduces or removes unsightly lines by correcting the underlying muscles. It is most frequently used to eliminate horizontal forehead lines, "crow's feet," horizontal lines in the neck and laugh lines on the nose. The safe, virtually painless treatment requires no sedative or anesthetic.

Laser treatments
Laser vein therapy is a revolutionary, non-invasive way to eliminate lesions. The laser penetrates the skin and raises the blood vessel's temperature to safely coagulate it. The vein eventually disappears.

Juvederm and Restylane
These fillers reduce signs of aging in the face and neck. They are both non-animal derived hyaluronic gels.

Radiesse
This injection minimizes wrinkles and the signs of aging. Because its main ingredient is found in bone, it is rare for it to elicit a negative reaction.

Sclerotherapy
This is the most effective procedure for treating unwanted small vessels, called spider veins, usually found on the legs and thighs. A solution is injected into the vein using a very small needle. This substance causes the vein to turn white and gradually disappear. Multiple veins can be injected during one appointment, but if the affected area is extensive, an individual may wish to complete treatment in multiple sessions. Some varicose veins can also be treated successfully with sclerotherapy. Side effects are usually minor.

TCA peels
Chemical peels can create a dramatic improvement in skin rejuvenation. Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA) is mixed with a base and applied to the skin, which causes the topmost layer of dead skin to slowly peel off, revealing healthier skin in a few weeks.
